Its the layout which is taking the time and I have measured 30 minutes on a large document with hundreds of footnotes. Sometime when I type, I can see the Writer trying to second guess what word I am typing, putting a word there in highlights. Alternatively, press Windows logo key+I to open the Windows settings. Autodesk would do well to open the gates to using Open Office for spreadsheet intergration, as well as maybe others so that new features that roll out for the new products on the OSX side of things are easily available to any who would like to use them. That is working as designed as a complex, 1,500 page document with images and footnotes can take tens of minutes to layout and paginate. I have been a long-time Mac User and can use the most demanding of CAD software out there (including Autodesk Alias) I find theses extra strings attached to Microsoft very disconcerting and it reminds me why I have stayed away from Windows for so long. I also think it is messing up my Dragon Naturally Speaking program. To be clear, this is the the three word box that pops onto the screen as I am typying. I find it very disruptive and seldom do I see a better word suggestion. I can't believe more people have not bellyache'd about this. To turn off Word Completion, select Format > AutoCorrect> AutoCorrect Options > Word Completion and deselect Enable word completion.
